Start Your New Year Off FAST!

The 21 Day Daniel Fast

Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you.” Joshua 3:5

Congratulations on your commitment in joining us on this fast. We are excited about what will happen to you the next 21 days. This fast provides an excellent opportunity to become open to God for what He desires to do in you and through you. Our prayer during this fast is that God will draw us close to Him.

Focus

The fast is a spiritual discipline designed to better connect us with God. As a body of believers, we are fasting in order to deepen our relationship with God and to walk in a greater sense of His purpose, plan and destiny for our lives. The best way to do this is redirect our food source. This is accomplished through substituting our regular food intake for spiritual food; Bible reading, prayer, and journaling. The overall goal is to experience a genuine hunger for spending time with God.

Repentance: for personal sins and for the sins of the nation.
Rekindle a passion for Jesus and the Fire of the Holy Spirit within us.
Recover our full inheritance and all that belongs to us as His children.
Restore the Body by healing the broken and bringing them back to Him.
Release the greatest outpouring of His Holy Spirit and power in us.

Scripture to Read in Preparation for the Fast

Daniel 1:5-20 Numbers 6:1-4
I Corinthians 10:21 Isaiah 58
Acts 13:1-4 Psalm 35
Psalm 69 Daniel 9:3
Joel 2:12 Matthew 17:21
Mark 9:29 I Corinthians 7:5

Scripture teaches us to pray without ceasing (I Thess. 5:17) and encourages us to be stretched out in our prayers unto God (Acts 12:12). The word praying here implies being stretched out. I encourage you to make a concerted effort to diligently practicing the presence of God during the fast. Stretch yourself beyond your normal capacity to go farther with Him. Stretch your time with Him in prayer and listening. God is the Vine and we are the branches. We must abide in Him or we die and have no fruit. Fruit is grown through time.

“I have set the Lord continually before me: because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.” Psalm 16:8

“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.” Psalm 19:14

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly…” Psalm 1:1

“Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matt 5:16
